Real estate developer Jot Raymond has filed a $165 million lawsuit against the Tennessee Valley Authority, claiming damages from the massive coal sludge spill in central Tennessee caused two home sales to fall through.
The spill covered an area larger than the Exxon-Valdez oil spill. The entire area was evacuated.
Three homes were destroyed, and a dozen other homes were damaged.
Four more plaintiffs with similar claims likely will be added to the lawsuit, according to Raymond’s attorney.
