Filed February 26th, 2010 joshua

Sportime is recalling about 580 BigBox Floor Hockey Sets because surface coatings on it have tested for excessive lead paint levels.

According to a statement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the surface coating on the boards, assembled together to form the floor hockey playing field, contain excessive lead levels.

No injuries have been linked to this defective product.

This recall involves all sets of BigBox Hockey, each consisting of six boards, measuring 6’ long by 10” tall. The boards come in six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. The boards can be assembled together to create a contained playing area for children’s floor hockey.

This product was available through Sportime’s catalog and online at its Web site, sportime.com, from November 2006 until October 2009 for between $147 and $269.

Consumers should stop using this product immediately and contact Sportime for a refund.
